In a cage of wire netting bearing the legend, “The Roc—The Egg,” the uncomfortable gander swayed and craned his neck; and all but his voice was satisfactory. As fer me, I aint got time to do much fancy work an’ I’d never git round to a job like this fer myself.” Mrs. Wopp, as was usual at the morning meal, appeared with her greyish-red hair tortured with curl papers.
